We are a family owned and run business that was established by my Grandfather 'Bob' over 78 years ago. He was a larger than life character who threw his heart and soul into everything he did and the family business was no exception. What started out as a small traditional butchers shop quickly diversified and expanded over the years into new areas of enterprise within the red meat sector. My father 'Robert' is now the company Chairman and I sit on the board alongside other family members and the senior management team. Together the team has worked tirelessly to develop the business from its humble beginnings to one that is now at the fore-front of its industry.
Today Ensors operates out of new, purpose built, state of the art premises. The site operates a multi-species abattoir, primal cutting plant and a further processing facility dedicated to producing meats and meat products that are of the highest quality. Our business boasts the very latest manufacturing technology amongst other abattoirs and all of our products are fully traceable from the farm to the fork - ensuring that provenance and product authenticity can be guaranteed.

In a market where food safety and consumer reassurance has never been more important, we are uniquely positioned to offer a complete service package to your business, right from the procurement of livestock to the delivery of the final product. We specialise in processing branded and own label meats for a range of sectors including retail, food service, wholesale and further processors, supplied through a nationwide distribution network. We also offer a service designed to support local farmers who wish to set up their own farm direct sales enterprise.
Our meat is sourced from livestock reared using the very best animal husbandry practices, including the Ensors family farm in Flaxley, Gloucestershire. Many of our supplying farms are located within the South West and we are proud to work in partnership with producers who we know share our values and beliefs.
Ensors sources Organic, Rare Breed, Farm Assured, Freedom Food, PGI status and breed specific livestock from approved farms as well as conventional livestock.
